INTRODUCTION

This website (keddie28.com) and forum is a branch / continuation of a forum which began c. 2009. Many members have done their own original research on the case, much of it shared and developed here. From 2009, we were also privy to a select few case files and photos posted by the originator of the previous site (who also was behind the two poorly-made 'documentaries'), Josh Hancock. While researching his documentaries, Hancock had stolen boxes of case files, photos, and other evidence from the Plumas County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) when they granted him and his team access to the renowned 'Keddie Room'.When we learned of his felonious actions, and his general distortion of case files and facts came to light, I (dmac, webmaster of keddie28.com) personally took his site offline. When I built this site, I used the database from the forum on Josh's defunct site, which is why this forum is very much a continuation of the old one.

Around 2013, then-sheriff of Plumas County, Greg Hagwood, re-opened the Keddie investigation, hiring former PCSO detective Mike Gamberg as Special Investigator. As Greg and Mike freely admitted to me, part of their impetus was to counter our findings, which were quite disturbing, and shed law enforcement (particularly 1981-era PCSO) in a bad light. However, upon vetting our original research and deductions, reading their original case files from 1981 onward, and from their own investigation, they found our work not only credible but beneficial to their own case work. Since roughly 2015, Gamberg and I have been in regular contact, and at several stages have been close collaborators. In fact, since July of 2020, I've had full access to all the case files still known to exist from PCSO's collection (including Gamberg's own files). It is from these case files that much of the synopsis is drawn. However, a great amount of information has also been gleaned from the original work of members of this site. We've also obtained the case files in the private collection of Doug Thomas, the Plumas sheriff at the time of the murders who admitted to being "great pals" with his chief suspect, Marty Smartt. A close relative of another chief suspect, John Boubede (BOO-buh-day) came forward in the hopes of clearing his name, but came away convinced he was involved. On the forum, she uses the name, 'Princess'. Through her help, we were able to obtain Bo's military records, VA medical records, DNA, and much more.

The following case synopsis is constructed from law enforcement (LE) case files, personal archives from some involved in the original 'investigation', and much original research conducted by members of the keddie28.com team. The goal is to give the truthful account of the murders: the victims, the killers, the motives, and the cover-up by corrupt members of Law Enforcement (LE).
